Most often, hermetic sealing is an afterthought in the design of any product. At Tekna Seal, we like to get involved with the customer’s design process to use our extensive experience in glass-to-metal bonding to help them design a part that provides the most effective seal and the highest performance. We know what will work, and what will not.
The versatility of the Tekna Seal Oxide-Free glass sealing process allows the designer to incorporate many secondary features into the glass-sealed assembly at minimal additional cost. Tekna Seal can provide metal-to-metal brazing and the casting of features into the glass simultaneous to the bonding process. We have saved countless customers time and money by becoming part of their design process. |

Multiple Pins in Multiple Glass Seals
The minimum Ø D should be 2.5 times larger than Ø d.
The minimum distance between adjacent pins or housing should be greater than or equal to Ø D. The illustration shows the optimal spacing (Ø S ≥ 3D) around each pin.
Thickness T should be approximately equal to Ø D
Optimum thickness T range: 2.54 ±1.27 mm, .100 ± .050 inches.
